Customer Service Assistant - ($7.25/hr.)

 

Customer Service Assistant ($7.25/hr.): Customer Service Assistants (CSA) provide assistance to students, faculty, and members through membership enrollment, program registration and sales. CSAs are trained to have a detailed knowledge of the entire facility and the various programs that are offered. They also provide a safe and secure environment for patrons in the fitness areas, while offering assistance in proper equipment use.

 


*Qualifications required:* Certification in CPR and First Aid.
*Qualifications preferred: *A minimum of one-year experience in a customer service environment with basic cash handling skills, multi-lined telephone experience and excellent communication skills.




Fitness Internship - AFC

 

Flexible based on student’s interest and needs. Typically consists of creating marketing and educational material, personal training and group exercise preparation, fitness programming, etc.

Qualifications required: University student with a strong background in fitness and wellness.

Front Desk staff - Field House ($7.00/hr)

The Field House Front Desk staff will be responsible for answering the telephone, greeting all patrons and answering any questions pertaining to the Field House. He/she will report directly to the Manager, RSC/Scheduling Coordinator or to the manager on duty when full time staff is not present.

Qualifications:

Candidate must posses a positive attitude and excellent communication skills. Must be willing to get CPR/AED certified.



Lifeguard - Aquatics ($8.00/hr.)

Maintains a safe, clean and secure environment for patrons in the aquatic area.

Qualifications required: Certification in lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer (or equivalent) and First Aid.

Manager - Field House ($9.00/hr)

The Field House Manager will supervise the indoor area of the Recreational Sports Complex when full-time staff is not present. He/she will also serve as a direct supervisor to the front desk staff. In addition, the Field House Manager will be responsible for opening and closing duties, which include closing out the daily cash report. The candidate will also be responsible for proper set up and clean up for ICA practices, intramurals and rentals.

Qualifications: Candidate must have at least two years experience with customer service and be familiar with cash handling procedures. Must be CPR and AED certified. Excellent communication skills and one year of supervisory and/or front desk experience are recommended.



Manager on Duty - AFC ($13.50/hr)

The Manager on Duty (MOD) is tasked with supervising the Aquatic and Fitness Center and its wage staff members during hours in which full-time staff members are not present. MODs are trained to have an extensive knowledge of all Aquatic Center policies, procedures and operations protocols.
Qualifications required: Two to three years experience in a customer service environment with at least one year of entry or intermediate management experience. Candidates should be familiar with cash handling and daily cash/revenue reconciliation procedures.

Personal Trainer - AFC ($17.00/hr)

 

Participates in the development and implementation of fitness assessments and programming. Interested individuals should also hold a strong belief in life-long fitness.

Qualifications required: Certified by a national fitness organization, and hold current CPR and First Aid certifications.

Qualifications preferred: At least 1 year of experience working in a fitness center or personal training setting, a degree in exercise science or related field, and a certification from ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NASM or NSCA.

Water Safety Instructor - Aquatics ($13.00 - $18.00)

Participates in the George Mason University Learn to Swim Program. Instructs swim lessons according to skill requirements as defined by the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Program.

Qualifications required: American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification.
