Mission: Recreational Sports provides quality recreational programs and services designed to promote the awareness and benefits of lifetime recreation, health, and awareness. Our goal is to develop a diverse recreational program to help improve the quality of campus life. Our programs, services, and facilities are available to all current students, faculty, and staff of the university without regard to age, sex, race, or disability.

George Mason Recreational Sports offers many outlets for students and staff to enjoy their free time while on campus. Take a much needed break from one’s busy schedule and visit one of George Mason University’s excellent recreation centers on campus. Conveniently located near the major housing and academic buildings on-campus, students and faculty/staff can work off stress with a fun game of basketball, enjoy a cardio kickboxing class, pump some iron, or take a leisurly dip in the pool. New to the workout scene? Don’t be discouraged, our friendly staff will have you feeling confident in no time. Feeling sore after working out, have no fear, schedule an appointment with our nationally certified massage therapist.

For those looking to participate in one of our recreational sports leagues, look no further than intramural sports. Intramural sports offers students and faculty/staff an opportunity to participate in sports leagues and special events such as flag football, soccer, basketball, dodgeball and much more. For those individuals new to campus, Intramural sports is a great outlet to meet new people and get away from the everyday grid of classes and homework. Intramurals has something for everyone. Checkout our upcoming events calendar and grab some friends and form a team, or register online as a “free agent".

Former high school athlete? Full-time students who are looking to participate on a more competitive level, should be sure to checkout what Club Sports has to offer. Club sports offers full-time students an opportunity to compete against other local universities in sports ranging from football to synchronized swimming. There are currently 23 club teams represented here at George Mason University. Take a look at what we have to offer, and whatever you choose, have fun, and stay active.
